
Diabetic friendly apple crisp with caramelized dates
No sugar added and only dirty one bowl with this recipe!
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup oats
- 1/4 cup almond flour
- 4 oz no sugar added applesauce
- 1/4 tsp each of cinnamon, cloves, allspice powder
- pinch each of salt, ginger, and nutmeg powder optional
- 1/2 tbsp coconut oil or butter!
- 2 dates chopped, if you would like!
- 1 small apple sliced
- honey or maple syrup drizzle optional
Instructions
- Preheat air fryer or oven to 375
- Mix ingredients 1-7 in a bowl, or in parchment paper inside the loaf pan.
- Slice the apple and chop a couple of dates or leave them whole.
- Layer apples on top of parchment paper, and sprinkle another dash of cinammon.
- Spread the crust mixture on top of the apples. Honey or maple syrup drizzle optional.
- I left the dates whole and they were still yummy!
- Let it cool until hard, and slice into 2 servings! Pair with low sugar vanilla Greek yogurt for a VERY balanced dessert!
