
Mug cake
Enjoy these rich, delicious brownie type cake with peace of mind—no need to worry about blood sugar spikes! Thanks to the almond flour's healthy fats and protein, they help keep your sugar absorption steady. Your A1C will appreciate the choice!
Equipment
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup almond flour
- 1/4 cup protein powder can use any kind! chocolate protein powder recommended.
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 egg or 1/4 cup coconut or avocado oil, or melted butter.
- water or milk to thin it out to a batter texture
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract optional
- 1 tbsp mini chocolate chips optional. we used a low added sugar variety from Walmart, with 2g added sugar, called Endangered Species brand.
Instructions
- Stir all ingredients well into microwave or air fryer safe mug or bowl
- Cook for 2-5 minutes (check halfway), then let cool. It will be very moist like a brownie, not a cake texture!
- Enjoy!
